Veterinary Medical Acupuncture

We offer veterinary medical acupuncture to select small animal patients.

Dr. Brittney Derksen is certified in veterinary medical acupuncture through CuraCore VET, which focuses on scientifically proven points and techniques.

Acupuncture uses very fine needles placed at specific points on the body to stimulate nerves, surrounding tissue and blood flow. It can help manage pain, support circulation and improve muscle function. It is often used alongside other treatments as part of a comprehensive approach to pain management and rehabilitation.

Acupuncture may be beneficial for pets experiencing:

  • Arthritis and chronic pain

  • Orthopedic, ligament and soft tissue injuries

  • Back and neck pain

  • Intervertebral disc disease

  • Certain neurological conditions and myopathies

  • Post-operative pain and rehabilitation

It may also be considered as a supportive therapy for certain inflammatory conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, chronic constipation and chronic kidney disease.

Treatment plans are individualized based on each patient’s condition, needs and goals. Acupuncture is generally used alongside other appropriate veterinary therapies to help support your pet’s comfort, mobility and quality of life.
